What's coming next?
Our enthusiasm for astronomy is dependant on clear skies, so a natural addition to our observatory would be a weather station and
the sharing of its data. To this end we are investigating suitable weather stations and the data that they collect. In the future
we hope to install a weather station and publish its data on the website.
We are a community resource. Please feel free to suggest any relevant web pages that you would like to see on our website and we will
see what we can do!
The Observatory is planning to start a number of photography projects as follows:
Transient Lunar Phenomena - for TLP work
our video camera could be used to observe the unlit area of the Moon in crescent phase to look for bright impacts.
- To image all the Messier objects and publish the result.
Solar Observation. Using the Herschel Wedge on the 6” refractor and
Coronado telescopes to photograph sunspots and solar flares.
using our telescopes to produce an new image catalogue of the Messier
Objects. We hope that many will join us to either assist or even bring their own cameras. We will publish our results on this website.
